Massabesic is 8-1 against Bonny Eagle since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Scots at 4:00 p.m.

Massabesic lost 20-6 to Westbrook on Wednesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonny Eagle). They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Portland on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Scots with their most commanding win of the season.

Bella Hanson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Leah Storey and Reese Bryant did most of the damage at the plate: Storey got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Bryant went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Bryant a new career-high. Neveah Hagerman also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bonny Eagle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Bonny Eagle and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Massabesic, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Massabesic skirted past Bonny Eagle 4-2 when the teams last played back in June of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
