Basketball Recap: West Jefferson Comes Up Short

West Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 43-27 fall against the Covington Lions. The Buccaneers were down 34-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of KeyShawn Butler and Savannah Washington, who each put up ten points.

Covington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brookln Baham, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was John'Tavia Baham, who earned nine points.

West Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Covington, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

West Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 31-25 loss against Benjamin Franklin on the 30th. As for Covington, they have also already played their next contest, a 44-26 defeat against Hammond on the 30th.
