Softball Recap: Master's Academy Comes Up Short

Master's Academy managed to slip by Orangewood Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Master's Academy lost 18-12 to Orangewood Christian on Tuesday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lauren McMeel was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Martin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

McMeel wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Master's Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for Master's Academy: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.8.

Master's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Orangewood Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Master's Academy is facing Altamonte Christian at the right time seeing as Altamonte Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
