Baseball Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Englewood Rams. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Stanton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Figueroa, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Figueroa has posted since back in February.

Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Englewood, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-8.

Coming up, Stanton will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Raines at 6:30 p.m. Stanton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Raines has averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Englewood, they will venture away from home to challenge Parker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
