Softball Recap: Mariner Victorious

While Mariner put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Riverdale. The Tritons walked away with a 4-0 win over the Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Tritons in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Gabi Winters made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Briley Parramore and Thiana Condappa did most of the damage at the plate: Parramore went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Condappa got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run. Those three RBI gave Parramore a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Mariner's record is now 10-7. As for Riverdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mariner will face off against Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverdale, they will challenge Cape Coral at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st.
