Softball Game Preview: Community Braves vs. Lindale Eagles

The Community Braves will challenge the Lindale Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Community is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Pleasant Grove a 6-0 shutout.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Lindale and Gilmer, and Lindale kept the tradition alive. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Buckeyes on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Buckeyes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lindale let Ava Wilson and Zaidyn Chamberlain run wild. Wilson went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Chamberlain went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Makynli Zemer, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Lindale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Community's victory bumped their record up to 26-4. As for Lindale, their win bumped their record up to 27-4.
