Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Robertson's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Robertson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Tularosa Wildcats by a score of 11-6 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2019.

Brian Lucero and Brenen Deisler made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lucero tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Deisler didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Lucero went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Deisler earned two runs and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Lucero has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Robertson let Diego Maez and Elijah Ortiz run wild. Maez went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Ortiz got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Robertson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Tularosa, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-8.

As of now, neither Robertson nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
