Softball Recap: Lake Roosevelt Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lake Roosevelt came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Okanogan Bulldogs 13-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-4 on Tuesday.

Presley Steffens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Lake Roosevelt let Paisley Fury and Taylor Vargas-Thomas run wild. Fury got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Vargas-Thomas went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Nautika Brown was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lake Roosevelt's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.
