Baseball Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Oakland lost against Illinois Valley back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Oakers came up short against the Cougars, falling 14-4. The Oakers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Gavin Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jachai Myers, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Oakland's record now sits at 5-15. As for Illinois Valley, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-8.

Coming up, Oakland will take on North Douglas/Elkton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Illinois Valley, they will be playing at home against Days Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
