Preview: Santa Fe Raiders vs. Columbia Tigers
Santa Fe has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Columbia Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Santa Fe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Santa Fe suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Palatka at home and fell 65-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Santa Fe in their matchups with Palatka: they've now lost four in a row.
Natalie Chohan put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with six steals. Deziah Jones was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Columbia can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 51-17 victory over Leon at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Columbia has posted since November 29, 2023.
Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Columbia, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Santa Fe was dealt a bruising 73-31 defeat at the hands of Columbia when the teams last played back in November of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Santa Fe was down 39-14.
