Football Recap: Camp Verde Falls to Veritas Prep in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Camp Verde unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 20-6 fall against the Veritas Prep Falcons on Friday. If the Cowboys were looking for revenge after losing 23-13 to the Falcons when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brayden Walsworth threw for 84 yards on 17 of 26 attempts. On the ground, Justin Smith rushed for 74 yards.

Camp Verde wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 50-12 victory against Desert Star on the 29th. As for Veritas Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 29-14 win against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on the 29th.
