New Kent is a perfect 10-0 against Lafayette since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will challenge the Rams at 4:30 p.m. New Kent is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.2 runs per game this season.

New Kent was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Poquoson on Wednesday. The Trojans blew past the Islanders 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kenley Rowe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Hannah Tober was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

New Kent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poquoson only posted an OBP of .316.

Meanwhile, Lafayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 32nd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 29-4 to Bruton.

New Kent pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Lafayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

New Kent took their victory against Lafayette when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 21-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
