It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Eads Eagles duke it out with Briggsdale Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eads will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.
Eads is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Genoa-Hugo/Karval, posting a 56-26 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 23 points or more this season.

Eads found their leader in sophomore Anna Wollert, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Wollert has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tailee Weeks-Johnson, who posted 15 points.
Eads smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 23 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Briggsdale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 36-32 W against the Buffaloes.
Eads better keep an eye on Kayl Klem. She was instrumental in Briggsdale's win, shooting 67% from the field en route to 13 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Klem continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Eads' record now sits at 21-3. As for Briggsdale, their record now sits at 18-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Eads has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Briggsdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Eads was dealt a bruising 68-31 defeat at the hands of Briggsdale in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Thankfully for Eads, Jenna Krise (who went 12-for-22 on her way to 29 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
