Basketball Recap: Byron Comes Up Short

Byron lost against Ovid-Elsie back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Byron Eagles were dealt a 75-41 defeat at the hands of the Ovid-Elsie Marauders. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Marauders are ranked 166th).

Byron's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Ovid-Elsie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.

Byron wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-47 defeat against Bath on the 24th. As for Ovid-Elsie, they will head out to challenge New Lothrop at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
