Basketball Recap: Homer Knights vs. Tri County Northeast Wolfpack

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 12 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact the Homer Knights proved on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-27 win over Tri County Northeast. The win made it back-to-back wins for Homer.

Homer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lilly Harris out in front who scored 15 points along with seven steals. Harris hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandra Albrecht, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Tri County Northeast's loss came despite strong showings from Rhyanne Mackling and Briley Anderson. Mackling almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds, while Anderson scored nine points along with five rebounds. Mackling hasn't dropped below three steals for 12 straight games.

Homer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Tri County Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Homer is on the road again on Friday and plays the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Winnebago focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for Tri County Northeast, they will face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Creighton is ranked 224th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 228th).
