Boyd County is a perfect 10-0 against Russell since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. Boyd County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Russell likes a good challenge.

Boyd County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Fairview with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Russell and Lewis County, and Lewis County kept the tradition alive. The Red Devils fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Bella Hall made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Boyd County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Russell, they dropped their record down to 8-18 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Everything went Boyd County's way against Russell in their previous matchup back in March, as Boyd County made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
