Basketball Recap: Poughkeepsie Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Poughkeepsie can now relate to. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peekskill Red Devils on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pioneers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Red Devils are ranked 338th).

Poughkeepsie's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Peekskill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Poughkeepsie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peekskill, they will square off against Tappan Zee on Tuesday.
