Basketball Game Preview: Sam Rayburn Rebels vs. Era Hornets

Sam Rayburn hasn't had much luck against Era recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Hornets at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Sam Rayburn came up short against North Hopkins and fell 37-30. The contest marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Era had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six last Tuesday. They blew past the Bearcats 59-34. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Sam Rayburn's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Era, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Sam Rayburn took a serious blow against Era in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 73-44. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
