It was a good run, but Glenvar unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Alleghany Cougars by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Highlanders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Glenvar's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Alleghany, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Glenvar will take on rival James River at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Alleghany is set to challenge their familiar foe Floyd County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
