Volleyball Preview: Somerville Yeguas vs. Hearne Eagles
After both having extra time off, the Somerville Yeguas and the Hearne Eagles will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerville will be strutting in after a win while Hearne will be coming in after a loss.
Two weeks ago, Somerville made easy work of Dime Box and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Hearne was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Still Creek Christian.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-8, 25-18.
Somerville's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Hearne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Everything went Somerville's way against Hearne when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as Somerville made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Somerville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
