Baseball Recap: Long Branch Find Success

While Long Branch's win against Henry Hudson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Green Wave narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Admirals 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 back in April.

Long Branch's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that Campbell has hit this season. Jaylen Brooks was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Long Branch's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Henry Hudson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Branch will square off against Monmouth Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Henry Hudson, they will take on Somerset Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
