Softball Recap: Fertile-Beltrami Gets the Win

Fertile-Beltrami took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Northome/Kelliher, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons won by a run and slipped past the Mustangs 7-6.

Fertile-Beltrami got a massive performance out of Aubryn Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Johnson's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Britta Sorenson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

Fertile-Beltrami is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Northome/Kelliher, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Fertile-Beltrami does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northome/Kelliher, they will venture away from home to challenge Clearbrook-Gonvick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
