Glenvar has no trouble against Christiansburg

Recap: Glenvar Highlanders vs. Christiansburg Blue Demons

The Glenvar Highlanders can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past Christiansburg 58-55. That 58-55 margin sets a new team best for Glenvar this season.

Glenvar found their leader in underclassman Brody Dawyot, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Dawyot has scored at least 25% of Glenvar's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Hylton, who scored 15 points.

Glenvar's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Christiansburg, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenvar will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carroll County at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
