Football Recap: Baker Takes a Loss + How To Watch

There was early excitement for Baker after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Jefferson who ended up claiming the real prize. The Spartans took a 28-14 bruising from the Panthers. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 8-0 in the first quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyzer Zody, who rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 141 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 99 rushing yards gave Zody a new career-high. Jefferson's leading receiver Mikael Richard was Zody's top target yet again, picking up 115 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one TD on the ground.

Baker now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Jefferson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Colstrip at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Broadwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
