Basketball Recap: Durand Falls Despite Big Games from Maddy Moore and Aurora Hilton

Durand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Oregon Hawks, falling 56-31.

Durand's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aurora Hilton, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and four steals, and Maddy Moore, who earned eight points. The dominant performance also gave Hilton a new career-high in assists (four).

Aniyah Sarver was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds for Oregon. Sarver has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times she's played. Alease Mclain was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Durand's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Oregon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-14.

Durand wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-13 defeat against Dakota on the 11th. As for Oregon, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-25 loss against Lutheran on the 11th.
