Basketball Recap: Wendell Comes Up Short

Wendell has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Declo Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-46 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wendell still got an impressive performance from Jordon Swainston, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 22 points. Another player making a difference was Jarett Borges, who posted ten points and five boards.

Wendell's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Declo, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

Coming up, Wendell will square off against Buhl at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Declo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
