Basketball Recap: South Haven Comes Up Short

South Haven extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oxford Wildcats. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

As for Oxford, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 55.0 points this season.

Kellen Green was nothing short of spectacular: he went 6-for-11 en route to 19 points and four steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kale Moberly, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Haven will venture away from home to square off against Medicine Lodge on the 18th. As for Oxford, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Pretty Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
