Basketball Game Preview: New Prairie Cougars vs. Culver Academies Eagles

New Prairie is 0-3 against Culver Academies since March of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The New Prairie Cougars will take on the Culver Academies Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Culver Academies took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on New Prairie, who comes in off a win.

New Prairie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Glenn by a score of 49-41. The Cougars didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

New Prairie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Wiginton led the charge by putting up 17 points and eight boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Wiginton has scored at least a third of New Prairie's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Daniels, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Culver Academies' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 52-40 to Chesterton.

Culver Academies' defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for New Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 6-17.

New Prairie was taken down by Culver Academies 64-26 when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can New Prairie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
