Volleyball Recap: Hand Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hand lost against Branford on September 8th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hand took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22, 15-8.

Julianne Henkel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Branford, getting 20 digs, 12 kills, and nine aces. Henkel has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 24 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Erin Murphy, who had 33 digs and one assist.

Hand's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Branford, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Hand wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Amity Regional on the 30th. As for Branford, they will head out on the road to challenge Guilford at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
