Baseball Recap: Harmon Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East, Harmon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Schlagle Stallions a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Eliseo Hernandez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Harmon is undefeated when Hernandez posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brandon Anfinson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Harmon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Harmon's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Schlagle, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Harmon is set to challenge their familiar foe Highland Park on Thursday. Meanwhile, Schlagle will square off against rival Sumner Academy on Thursday.
