Hickory can attribute much of their success to Kelvin Morrison, who rushed for 97 yards and three scores, and Christian Dungee, who rushed for 120 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Morrison has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hickory was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Hickory didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marzair Gardlock and Morrison. Morrison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Sharon rose to the challenge two weeks ago. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 52-0 victory. The matchup marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Sharon, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rakeem Hughes, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Hickory has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 238.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sharon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 185.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Hickory came out on top in a nail-biter against Sharon when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 21-19. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
