Softball Recap: Webster Groves Escapes with a Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cor Jesu Academy, Webster Groves was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They snuck past the Hickman Kewpies with a 4-2 win.

Webster Groves' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alice Lippold, who went a perfect 4-for-4 while logging 2 doubles, 2 runs, and 1 stolen base. Lippold has also been controlling the strike zone with ease recently: she hasn't struck out for 20 straight games.

Webster Groves has now won four of their last five games on the road. That's given a solid lift to their 13-22 record this season. As for Hickman, they are now 18-8, having gone 2-1 since their three-game losing streak ended.

Looking ahead, Webster Groves will face off against Harrisburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hickman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
