Preview: Maury Commodores vs. Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers
The Maury Commodores on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers at 5:45 p.m. on January 17th. Booker T. Washington took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Maury, who comes in off a win.
Maury posted their biggest win since December 15, 2023 on Saturday. They put the hurt on Oscar Smith with a sharp 58-37 victory. The victory was just what Maury needed coming off of a 70-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Maury's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna Owens, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Owens has scored all season. Nyla Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Granby at home by a decisive 56-42 margin.
Maury's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Booker T. Washington, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Maury was dealt a bruising 45-14 loss at the hands of Booker T. Washington in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Maury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
