Softball Recap: Lake Station Edison Takes a Loss

Lake Station Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hammond Central Wolves, falling 14-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Eagles of the 23-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Harley Hileman was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Hileman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season.

Lake Station Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hammond Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Lake Station Edison has already played their next match, an 18-0 loss against Whiting on the 14th. Hammond Central has also already played their next game (against Calumet Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
