Basketball Recap: Granite Hills' Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Granite Hills came into Wednesday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 65-56 win over the Victor Valley Jackrabbits on Wednesday. The Cougars pushed the score to 50-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jackrabbits cut but never quite recovered from.

Several Jackrabbits players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was KEVEN WALLACE, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JESIAH HYDER, who scored seven points.

Granite Hills' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Victor Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Granite Hills will head out to take on Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Barstow has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Victor Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-53 defeat against Adelanto on the 17th.
