Football Game Preview: Waldport Irish vs. Monroe Dragons

The Waldport Irish will challenge the Monroe Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waldport hasn't scored more than six points for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Waldport's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Myrtle Point on Friday. They were dealt a 74-0 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats. Irish fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bobcats since Friday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Monroe, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Central Linn on Friday as they made off with a 30-6 win. The Dragons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Waldport's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Monroe, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Waldport against Monroe in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 52-25 win. Will the Irish repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
