Softball Recap: Plumstead Christian Triumphs

Plumstead Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Renaissance Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Plumstead Christian was the clear victor by a 19-5 margin over Renaissance Academy on Monday. This was payback for Plumstead Christian, who suffered a 16-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Olivia Incudine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Madison Edgerton was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game.

Plumstead Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Plumstead Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Renaissance Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Plumstead Christian will square off against Faith Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Renaissance Academy, they will face off against Collegium Charter at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
