Preview: Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders vs. Kennedy Memorial Mustangs
Scotch Plains-Fanwood is on a three-game streak of home losses, Kennedy Memorial a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders will take on the Kennedy Memorial Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scotch Plains-Fanwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Scotch Plains-Fanwood fell victim to Montgomery's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Cougars, falling 35-0. While losing is never fun, Scotch Plains-Fanwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Montgomery is ranked 44th).
Meanwhile, Kennedy Memorial was beaten by Voorhees 42-7 on Thursday.
The losses dropped Scotch Plains-Fanwood to 1-7 and Kennedy Memorial to 0-7.
Scotch Plains-Fanwood couldn't quite finish off Kennedy Memorial in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 and fell 21-19. Will Scotch Plains-Fanwood have more luck at home instead of on the road?
