Basketball Game Preview: West Rusk Raiders vs. Hemphill Hornets

The West Rusk Raiders will take on the Hemphill Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Rusk will be strutting in after a victory while Hemphill will be coming in after a loss.

West Rusk not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 (when they won 61-10). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eustace 61-33. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Hemphill had to start their season on the road last Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by Pineywoods Community Academy 58-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since January 14th.

West Rusk's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hemphill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
