Softball Game Preview: Cross County Thunderbirds vs. Buffalo Island Central Mustangs

Cross County is 1-9 against Buffalo Island Central since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Cross County will challenge Buffalo Island Central at 4:30 p.m.

Cross County easily dispatched Stuttgart on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Cross County fell just short of Manila by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Thunderbirds have suffered since March 6th.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Island Central got themselves on the board against Bay last Thursday, but Bay never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 16-0 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by nine runs or more this season.

Cross County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Buffalo Island Central, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Cross County couldn't quite get it done against Buffalo Island Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can Cross County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
