Basketball Game Preview: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Lakewood Tigers

The Brighton Bulldogs will face off against the Lakewood Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Brighton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Lakewood likes a good challenge.

Brighton fought the good fight in their overtime match against Westminster on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wolves 63-58.

Meanwhile, Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Valor Christian 83-30. Having soared to a lofty 66 points in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Brighton's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.
