Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Kingfisher). They strolled past the Purcell Dragons with  points to spare on Friday, taking the game  57-42. The  win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won three in a row.

Kingfisher found their leader in sophomore  Brett Calamateo, who rushed for 149 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 72 yards and one  TD. Those 149  rushing yards set a new season-high mark for  Calamateo.  Carter Stephenson was another key player, picking up 119 receiving yards and one  score.
 Kingfisher was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 245  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Purcell lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Deaken Dobbins, who rushed for 23 yards and three  touchdowns, and also threw for 196 yards and one  TD while completing 88.9% of his passes. Purcell's leading receiver  Cash Cook was  Dobbins' top target yet again, picking up 74 receiving yards and one  score, while also rushing for 81 yards on only seven carries.
Kingfisher's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Purcell,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kingfisher is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Heritage Hall  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Purcell will  square off against  rival Anadarko  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
