Foothill and Yucaipa are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Foothill Knights will challenge the Yucaipa Thunderbirds at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Knights fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Murrieta Valley a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Kyle Telson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Aidan Colburn was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Yucaipa was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Pacifica.

Foothill beat Yucaipa 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Foothill repeat their success, or does Yucaipa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
