Softball Recap: East Nicolaus Wins Going Away Against Winters

East Nicolaus was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Winters on Friday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 14-4 win. Considering the Spartans have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabby Sotelo was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Richie Farris was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

East Nicolaus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winters only posted a batting average of .133.

East Nicolaus' record now sits at 12-5. As for Winters, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

East Nicolaus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Paradise on the 22nd. As for Winters, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Willows at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Warriors are facing the Honkers at the right time seeing as the Honkers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
