Recap: Frost Polar Bears vs. Dawson Bulldogs
The Frost Polar Bears''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Dawson on the road and fell 51-8. While losing is never fun, Frost can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1131st, while Dawson is ranked 532nd).
Colby Springer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dawson, rushing for 337 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 21.1 yards per carry. Springer is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
Dawson's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Jalon Allen and his two sacks.
Frost's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Dawson, Mart, and Itasca. As for Dawson, the victory was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Frost will head out on the road to face off against Hubbard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hubbard comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Dawson, they will be playing at home against Mart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mart is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
