Basketball Recap: Washington Jaguars vs. Wicomico Indians

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Wicomico Indians 69-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-12 back in December of 2024.

Wicomico was led to victory by Carlisa Johnson and Se'Lah Foreman. Johnson went 9 for 16 on her way to 21 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Foreman went 10 of 17 en route to 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Johnson's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trinity Purnell, who posted eight points.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Wicomico, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Washington won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Snow Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wicomico, they will head out to take on Mardela at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
