Softball Recap: Peck Wins Going Away Against Caseville

Peck won the last time they faced Caseville and things went their way on Monday too. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Eagles.

Sydney Parker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Parker was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Aubrey Martinez was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Ureel, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Peck's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Caseville, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peck will take on Carsonville-Port Sanilac at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Caseville, they will square off against Memphis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
