Softball Game Preview: Millikan Rams vs. Jordan Panthers

Millikan is a perfect 10-0 against Jordan since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Millikan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Jordan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Millikan earned an 8-3 win over Long Beach Poly. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Jackrabbits: they've now won four in a row.

Lauren Cantwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Millikan got a massive performance out of Addy Everrett, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Riley McAndrew, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Millikan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Jordan was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Woodrow Wilson, falling 17-1.

Jordan's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Millikan, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Everything went Millikan's way against Jordan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Millikan made off with a 19-0 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
