Volleyball Recap: Lansing Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Raymore-Peculiar

Lansing is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Raymore-Peculiar. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Panthers.

Lansing was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 17 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Avery Sands paced Lansing's offense, picking up nine kills. Sands got some help from Brooklyn Andrews and her 15 assists.

Raymore-Peculiar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amber Fellhauer out in front who had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Fellhauer has posted over her last three matchups.

Lansing's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-7. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Lansing has already played their next contest, a 0-0 tie against Piper on the 7th. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Lee's Summit North on the 7th.
