Football Recap: Horizon Takes a Loss

Horizon played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 49-20 loss at the hands of the Chapin Huskies. The defeat continues a trend for the Scorpions in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Horizon had strong showings from Isaiah Aguilera, who rushed for 82 yards and two TDs, and Abraham Barraza, who picked up 101 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Daveon Singleton went supernova For Chapin., rushing for 169 yards and three scores on only ten carries. Those 169 rushing yards gave Singleton a new career-high. Joshua Martel was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Chapin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Horizon is set to face off against their familiar foe Hanks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Chapin will take on rival Andress at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
